Bournemouth West Conservative Association

Living in Westbourne I know that this part of Dorset is a wonderful place to live. There is much about it we want to protect and much we can improve.
Within the new Bournemouth West constituency – which again will include parts of Bourne Valley, Branksome and Alderney – there are many challenges. We need a community focused MP who works to solve these problems. Someone who is your champion in Westminster.
As I talk to local people I get a very clear sense of what matters to them:
- Fear of crime and experience of anti social behaviour is far too high. People – old nad young alike - want to see the police – on the streets not in cars.
- Tourism is a vital part of the local economy and Bournemouth and Poole must strive to attract visitors. But our outlying communities must not be forgotten.
- The character of our area must be protected. The need for new housing must be balanced against ensuring that we have the facilities local people need.
- This area contributes a lot but does not get a fair deal from Government. The removal of the promise of funding to Bournemouth and Poole College and the poor financial grants to Bournemouth and Poole Councils show local people need a better deal.
If there is ever anything I can do to help, or if there is an issue you would like to raise with me, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Conor Burns
Conservative Parliamentary Candidate
