Bournemouth West Town Council Elections Campaign Underway

As you will be aware, as Conservatives we did not support the creation of town councils in Bournemouth and Poole, but the Liberal Democrat-led administration at BCP Council is pressing ahead, with elections now set for 7th May. Although we continue to have serious concerns about the introduction of an additional layer of local government, these councils are now becoming a worrying reality. It is therefore vital that residents are properly represented and that there are strong voices in place to ensure decisions are made in the best interests of our communities. For that reason, we have selected Conservative candidates to stand in each of the new Wards within the Bournemouth West part of the Bournemouth Town Council area.

Town Council Wards:

It is all rather confusing, but these new Wards are:

• Bournemouth Central, Westbourne & West Cliff

• Kinson

• Northbourne, Redhill, Wallisdown North & Winton West

• Winton East, Charminster West & Talbot Woods

Boundary Changes

Please note that under the Lib Dem imposed new Ward boundaries for the Town Council, Talbot Village and Coy Pond now falls within the Poole Town Council area following the changes and are therefore not included within Bournemouth West’s usual election areas. We have fought these proposals all the way and residents may understandably question how well these new arrangements reflect long established community identities.

Our Approach

You should start to see Conservative campaign literature arriving shortly, and we look forward to introducing each of our candidates to you over the coming weeks. Our focus is clear. We want strong, committed local representatives who will stand up for their communities, protect what matters most to residents and ensure that the new Bournemouth Town Council operates efficiently, transparently, and responsibly. Just as importantly, we are determined to keep the town council precept as low as possible, so that residents are not burdened with unnecessary additional costs in the future as the Council offloads services for which you are already paying in council tax bills.

These elections matter. With the right people in place from the beginning, we can help ensure this new council delivers for residents and remains focused on the priorities that truly count.  With your support, we can make sure Bournemouth Town Council works in the best interests of residents from day one.
