Dave Smith

Dave has had the privilege of serving Central Ward as one of your local Conservative councillors for over 20 years. During that time he has helped and advised many residents with all sorts of issues of local concern.

Currently, Dave is the Cabinet member with responsibility for Planning and the Environment and is responsible for helping deliver many of the Council’s functions including bereavement services, coastal protection and town planning policies.

On a local level, along with his two ward colleagues, he worked extensively behind the scenes to ensure a satisfactory outcome with the sale by the Cooper Dean Estate of the Cricket Ground in Dean Park. He now really hopes that the continued use of the ground for cricket will be ensured well into the future. He believes strongly in the need to protect our green spaces and places.

Dave is a ‘Bournemouth Boy’ having lived here all his life. He currently lives in Winton with his wife and two children both of whom attend local schools.
