Michael rejoined the Conservative Party following his disappointment with the outcome of the EU referendum in 2016.  He says that since then, world events (Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and the re-election of Donald Trump for a second term as US President in 2024) have somewhat tended to overshadow his UK national concerns.

He has taken on the role of Membership Secretary for the Association, and is a respected member of the Officer team. He is an active member of the Westbourne & West Cliff Ward and hopes for closer activity with Bournemouth East for future social events.
