Don McQueen

Don was born and bred in Winton, spending the early years of his childhood here.  He's the 5th generation of his family from Bournemouth, and went to Bournemouth and Hill View schools as a child. His grandfather was a civil engineer who built the defences on Bournemouth beach that helped to stop Hitler’s invasion!

Pat Oakley

Pat is a retired businessman who has lived in Winton for over 35 years.  He is a family man, with 3 children who were born & raised in Bournemouth, and he still lives here with his wife. Pat is an active member of the local community, well known to many local residents. He has been a member of the BU Student Union Trustee Board for several years and has a special interest in improving the accommodation standards of properties rented by Winton's student community.  

Karen Rampton

Karen has represented Branksome East since 2008 and lives in the ward with her husband John.A strong, outspoken and committed community representative she campaigned successfully on the Talbot Heath planning application which was overturned by the Secretary of State.Karen works closely with several local residents’ groups and was delighted to secure over £70,000 of funding for the ward. This will be spent this year on improvements including enhancing the Coy Pond area, pathways, notice boards and play schemes.

Drew Mellor

Drew trained as an accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers before founding the AddVenture Group where he and his team advise and invest in businesses in the South. He believes strongly that a thriving business sector is the best way to create sustainable employment for all.

John Perkins

John Perkins has lived in and around Bournemouth for the majority of his life and went to school for a while at Christ the King primary school in Kinson before moving to Wales at the age of six in 1980. He returned to Bournemouth when he was 18.Although John currently lives in Boscombe he has many links to Kinson as both his grandmothers live close by on Durdells Avenue and Hood Crescent and his uncle and auntie are just over the way in Northbourne. John’s great uncle Bob Redfern taught in Kinson over many happy years.
